Two-steppers and country dancers will love this CD. Every song has toe
tappin' beat played by a great band, including Jay's warm tenor (think
Vince Gill but richer) and solid acoustic and electric guitar. He's on
the pop side of country with a weeping pedal steel and hooky country guitar
riffs.
"Coming
Around" has hints of R&B with an organ accenting the melody while
"Run Away Girl" has a 70s feel with its poppy female backing
vocals and bell-clear keyboards. There's a few crying in your beer songs
- hey it's country - like "Not Feeling So Well," a mournful
waltz that'll make you wanna put your arm around the guy. The album is
chock full of great guitar riffs including the one that opens "I
Got It Bad."
